Description

Bastide 2024 – Minervois Red

Bottle price: €11.50

A bright ribbon flows from the bottle’s neck — the violet shimmer of Bastide heralds the time of wine: youthful, close to the fruit, a wine of the moment.
A faithful companion to spontaneous cooking, it plays with its already mellow tannins, flecked with aromas of wild sloes.
Its lively boldness finds its place at both humble snacks and generous feasts among friends.
This is the wine that celebrates the allegorical meals of harvests saved.

TERROIR: Mountain zone in the Upper Minervois. South to southwest-facing parcels, between 200 and 350 meters above sea level. Stony clay-limestone slopes. Vines aged 10 to 50 years. Maximum yield: 40 hL/ha.

GRAPE VARIETIES: Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah.

VITICULTURE: Biodynamic and agroecological farming with cover crops, gentle pruning, debudding, vine braiding, and treatments based on plants, herbal teas, fermented extracts, sulfur, essential oils, and just a touch of copper (total over 5 years: 4 kg).

VINIFICATION: Manual harvest, destemming, short maceration (about one week) with co-fermentation — all varieties fermented together in the same tank. Gentle pressing (max. 1.5 bar). Fermentation completed in stainless steel.

AGEING: Stainless steel tank.

TASTING NOTES:
Pale red color, bright with subtle violet hues. The nose evokes its Carignan origins — fruit-driven, echoed on the palate where fresh red fruits dominate, carried by a refreshing liveliness.
A perfect wine for every occasion — from aperitifs to hearty meals.
