Wine details

Discover the wine.

A bright stream flows from the neck of the bottle; Bastide's violet sheen speaks of a young wine, close to its fruit, made for the moment. A willing companion to improvised meals, it plays on already softened tannins sprinkled with aromas of wild sloes. Its lively, cheeky character suits the simplest snack as readily as the generous dishes of a table shared with friends. It is a wine for reviving the celebratory meals that follow a harvest brought safely home.

Terroir

Mountain area of the Haut-Minervois. South- and southwest-facing plots at 200–350 m altitude. Stony clay-limestone slopes. Vines 10–50 years old. Maximum yield: 40 hL/ha.

Grape Varieties

Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah!

Vineyard Practices

Biodynamic and agroecological farming, ground cover, gentle pruning, shoot thinning, weaving vine shoots, and treatments based on plants, plant manure, fermented extracts, sulphur, essential oils and a little copper (4 kg in total over five years).

Winemaking

Hand-harvested and destemmed, then co-fermented (the different varieties share one tank) with a short, one-week maceration. Gentle pressing (1.5 bar maximum), with alcoholic fermentation finishing in stainless steel.

Ageing

Stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting Notes

A pale, brilliant red with subtle violet highlights. The nose recalls Carignan, from which the wine is said to come, and offers abundant fruit. On the palate, fresh red fruit dominates, accompanied by refreshing vivacity. A wine for every occasion, whether as an aperitif or with a meal.
